Thanksgiving Weekend with My Family

Tim and I had a wonderful weekend in the country with my family. There is not a lot to do there, but that never seems to matter because you always have good company around you. We got to see my cousin, Crystine who I have not seen in like two years. She drove in from Connecticut with her boyfriend, Ben. Tim and Ben seemed to get along well, they are both computer guys.

We went to the bowling alley for fish fry and hung out. We took some silly pictures together.

Simba had a good time too. He played with Crystine and Ben's dogs on Saturday. They have two dogs. One is named Killer and the younger one is named Kopper. However, Killer is very docile and friendly and Kopper bit Simba in the neck when they first met. He didn't hurt him, but it definitely startled Simba. After awhile they were okay together. Killer and Simba ran around the farm together. Kopper had to stay on his leash because he is younger and not fully trained yet.

Saturday my cousin, Christopher went hunting and caught two deer. He was really happy and made deer jerky out of it.

Later on, we went out to dinner and then went to watch my Uncle Bobby and Aunt Patty bowl at the local bowling alley which only has four lanes and no automatic scoring. They didn't win but that is okay.

Sunday We got to see my cousin, Amber for a little bit. It wasn't for very long because she was at a Wedding on Saturday that was out of town, but it was still nice. While we were there visiting, Simba got to play with their new puppy, Sydney. They were so cute together. Simba had his leash on and Sydney would grab onto Simba's leash and try to pull him around the room. Then Simba would just walk and Sydney would slide accross the floor. They reminded me of when Simba used to play with my childhood dog, Shadow. The roles were reversed then Simba was the puppy and Shadow used to drag Simba around the room when they would play tug of war.

I love going to Wisconsin to visit my mom's side of the family. It is so peaceful there and life is simple. Everyone gets along and has fun together. I spent all of my summers, christmas vactions, and easter breaks there when I was a child. I loved it there. I miss it now that I am an adult. I have many childhood memories there. I wish that we all lived closer to one another. I love all of you and miss you so much!!!

Thanksgiving Day

We had a very good Thanksgiving Day today with Family. I got to sleep in this morning til 10am which was nice and much needed. Then I cooked the stuffing and candied sweet potatoes for our dinner. Then I showered and got dressed and we headed down south to Tim's parents house for the festivities. Tim's brother, Adam and his girlfriend, Karen were in from California. It was good to see them. We have not seen them since July. The food was all very good. I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner. YUMO!!!! Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Stuffing, Cranberries, Corn, Rolls, Green Bean Casserole, and Pie for dessert. Carb overload, but I love it all. There was a little bit of drama after dinner when one of Tim's uncles left without saying good bye and did not tell anyone he was leaving, but I was not going to allow it to ruin my evening. We talked and laughed and fought over who was going to take what leftovers home. Then we headed for home at about 9:30pm.

Tomorrow we are going to drive up to Wisconsin to see my family. I am really excited to see all of them. We will get up tomorrow and get ready, get packed, and then Tim, Simba, and I will drive up there. Simon will stay home because he doesn't like going to other people's houses. I can't wait to see everyone!!! Hope that it is a good time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

Thanksgiving is getting closer

Thanksgiving is getting closer and in the spirit of giving thanks I will name some more things that I am grateful for. I could easily name millions of things that annoy me or things that I do not like, but that just puts me in a bad mood. So, here goes.

4) My incredible friends who are always there for me and put up with my crap.

My good friends from work that I have worked with for the last three years are awesome. And I don't know how I would survive without them. My best friend, Carissa who I have known since the sixth grade has been there for me through thick and thin, good times and bad, and my life would not be the same without her.

5) My wonderful In Laws. My sister-in-law, Lisa and Brother-in-law, Adam get along well and they are both easy to talk to. My father-in-law is quiet and non-judgemental. My mother-in-law is very nice and caring. Even though, we do not always agree on everything, I know in my heart that she cares for me and wants what is best for me and everyone in the family.

Grateful during Thanksgiving

I am so happy and excited that Thanksgiving is almost here. I love Thanksgiving!! It is so much better than Christmas. I love being around family and having really good food. I love all the Thanksgiving food. I am eternally in love with carbs so of course I love the food. I also love that Thanksgiving does not have all the pressure of christmas. You do not have to worry about getting the right gift for everyone. You just spend fun time with the ones that you love. There are people in my neighborhood that already have their christmas lights up. I think this is a slap in the face to the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving keeps getting more and more overshadowed by christmas. I refuse to gloss over thanksgiving and go right to christmas. So, I will make sure to enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday to the fullest. And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, some things that I am grateful for are:

1) My Wonderful Husband, Tim who manages to put up with all of faults and annoyances and love me for who I am.

2) My dog, Simba and cat, Simon who love me unconditionally no matter what happens. They are always there to greet me when I come home and happy to see me. Simba genuinely wants to see me. However, Simon is just happy to see me because he wants his food, but I will take that.

3) I am grateful for my family. Sometimes they drive me crazy, but they are always there for me when I need them.

I am grateful for so many more things in my life, but I am going to stop here for today.

Take some time to stop and smell the roses.

Fall Weekend

Thank god it is the weekend. I love Saturdays when I can just do whatever I want. Lounge around at home or enjoy the beautiful weather outside. It has been gorgeous the last two days. Thank god for the sun and warmth. I love fall weather. The trees are so beautiful and I love getting pumpkin lattes. YUMO!!! I love walking outside with my dog. Simba loves it too. He loves to smell the grass and see other people and dogs. He is extremely social. I call him my little social butterfly. We live on a cul de sac and when we are out front, he goes to visit all of the neighbors and say hello.

Here is a picture of Simba on our bed where he is not supposed to be.

Some beautiful Fall pictures from our front and backyard.

Enjoy this beautiful Fall day everyone!!!
